Hi 👋🏻 I am the founder of flickd.
After 10 years at Amazon I decided to leave the company and dive into my passion for film and TV to create the app that I, and many other film and TV enthusiasts, were missing in their lives.
As a film and TV lover I was struggling with:
1/ Filtering out the noise from traditional social media to focus on updates from TV and film topics only (looking at you Instagram, X, Thread, TikTok)
2/ Tracking what I am watching in one single user friendly friendly space (IMDb has stopped in time, Letterboxd is movies only and not user friendly, TV Time and TrakT are overwhelming and don't foster real connections)
3/ Knowing where to watch that show (hey was it on Disney+, Netflix or...?)
4/ Asking what friends are watching and recommending (enter WhatsApp and iMessage)
5/ Discussing specific scenes with others (Reddit I love you, but not for this)
That's why I created flickd, a seamless, clean, intuitive experience for film & TV lovers to track what they're watching, know where they can watch it, follow friends, post ratings and reviews, stay up to date with upcoming releases, and access the full catalog of millions of TV and movies online.
