Flecty - voice journal app
A fireside voice journal for your daily reflections
Flecty brings a warm fireplace and optional ambient sounds to voice journaling. Record your reflections, transcribe them, and use AI cleanup or writer-inspired styles to organize your thoughts. Your original audio and transcript are kept.
Hi, I’m Shawn, an indie developer. I’ve just released Flecty, a voice journal app.
Sometimes I reflect on things I’ve done, and I find that these reflections help me improve to get better results, or perhaps live a better life. But I’ve also noticed that we often repeat mistakes we’ve already made. So I think it’s useful to spend some time reflecting in a quiet environment and writing down those mistakes. Reflection is something I find valuable. When recording my thoughts, I wanted an environment that made me want to speak—to talk quietly and calmly. I find that sitting in front of a fire, especially when it’s cold, creates a comfortable, quiet atmosphere. That’s the feeling I wanted to bring into Flecty, an app I built for recording personal reflections. It supports voice-to-text transcription and rewriting. You can choose writing styles inspired by different well-known writers. Spoken reflections can be messy, so you can speak freely and let the app organize your thoughts in a style you like. Your original recording and transcript are kept. For privacy, recordings and journal entries are saved on your device, with optional sync to your private iCloud. Transcription and rewriting use online processing. Text results are temporarily cached for retries, normally expire after one hour, and are removed through scheduled cleanup. You can try it for free with up to two one-minute transcriptions per day.
