Eu trabalho com APIs todos os dias e comecei a me incomodar com algumas coisas nas ferramentas atuais: Pagar só pra colaborar com o time, precisar de login pra abrir o app, ficar preso a um workspace na nuvem sem controle real… e ainda por cima usar uma ferramenta pesada pra algo que deveria ser simples e rápido. Então resolvi construir uma alternativa. O FiveDollars API Client nasce com uma proposta bem direta: ser leve, rápido e totalmente sob o seu controle. Você consegue fazer todas as requisições do dia a dia (GET, POST, etc.), organizar suas collections, usar variáveis de ambiente e rodar sequências de requests — tudo de forma simples. Mas tem alguns pontos que, pra mim, fazem diferença de verdade: Seus dados são seus. Nada preso a servidor. Sua workspace pode ser versionada no Git, como qualquer outro projeto. Compartilhar com o time vira algo natural (acesso ao repositório, compartilhar requests pelo system clipboard e pronto). Funciona como app desktop (Mac, Linux, Windows), dentro do VSCode/Cursor como extensão e até integrado com assistentes de IA via MCP. A ideia não é reinventar tudo — é tirar a fricção do caminho.
