I didn’t wake up one day and decide, “I’m going to build FinSwitz.” It came from repeatedly building software and running into the same problem: financial infrastructure across Africa is fragmented. Every product needs payments, collections, payouts, settlements, wallets, banking rails, or reconciliation, yet businesses often have to integrate different providers for different countries and constantly worry about failed transactions, downtime, delayed settlements, and unreliable connections. At some point, I stopped asking, “Which payment provider should I integrate?” and started asking, “Why should every African business have to solve this problem independently?” That question became FinSwitz. I want FinSwitz to become the infrastructure layer that connects businesses to banks, fintechs, payment providers, and financial rails across Africa. If one provider fails, another should take over. If one country has a different financial system, businesses shouldn't have to rebuild their technology from scratch. The goal isn't simply to process payments. The goal is to build financial infrastructure that businesses can depend on. I want a future where an African business can build its product once, connect to FinSwitz, and access the financial capabilities it needs across multiple countries without constantly worrying about what is happening underneath. No unnecessary fragmentation. No single point of failure. And ultimately, no downtime.
