There are so many personal finance apps out there that claim to be personalized to your finances and your data, but in-reality they're cookie cutter templates with slightly different colored graphs. They would show me I spent $60 on a game, but they wouldn't tell me that was part of a stressful week. My first iteration of FinFeeler was back when I was a sophomore student in college, in 2022 writing up a sentiment analysis model for finance-related questions. Since then, I went through a few different variations of FinFeeler until I built a version I believe could really help people understand their personal finances.
This led me to create FinFeeler, an emotional spending platform meant to show you the why in your spending using Plaid to connect your financial accounts. Not just what or how much you spent. Personal finance apps often miss:
- What emotion was actually driving my spending? Was it a stressful week, maybe it was pay-day and I went on a splurge despite saving up for a vacation.
- The REAL monthly impact of financial habits. I usually get a morning latte, personal finance apps recognize that morning transaction. FinFeeler tells me the specific recurring habit I have, what the monthly impact is, and what kinds of habits I have.
- What was the impulse reason behind that transaction and how does that relate to my personality? FinFeeler helps you catch the pattern before you make the next impulse purchase.
Then, we also have FinCoach, an AI chat that doesn't only know your spending like other chats but also knows your behavioral spending unlike other chats.
