Find a Pro
Home-service pros checked against state license records
Every home-service pro is matched to state license or business records before they're listed: 195,000+ pros in 29 states and DC. Licenses are rechecked every morning, and a pro whose license lapses comes off the list. Nobody pays to be listed or to rank, and your number goes only to the pro you pick. Free, in English and Spanish. Premium adds My Home: your house's record, warranty and insurance coverage, bills and storm radar. The iPhone app adds a LiDAR room scan and a camera tape measure.

Who hunted Find a Pro?
Find a Pro was hunted by Travis Hale. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community. I'm Travis. I built Find a Pro after watching homeowners in Texas get burned by "verified" badges that meant nothing.
Every pro on Find a Pro is matched to the state's own records before it's listed: the license file for licensed trades, a business registration for the rest. That's 195,000+ pros in 29 states and DC, checked against more than a million active license records. Every morning we check the licenses again, and when one lapses, that pro comes off the list. About 500 have so far.
Getting those records was the hard part. Some states post their lists, some sell them for $10 to $50 by mailed check, and a few turned us down. Nobody pays to be listed or to rank, and your number only goes to the pro you pick.
Then My Home keeps track of the house: a maintenance calendar, your warranty and insurance explained, bills, and the storm radar over your roof. Hank, our house guide, can call up to 3 pros for you and line up their quotes. On iPhone, you can scan a room with LiDAR or measure it with your camera.
It's free to find a pro, in English and Spanish.
I'd love to hear what you'd check before hiring someone to work on your house.
