Fileway
One file storage SDK for every storage provider
Fileway is a lightweight TypeScript library for handling cloud file storage through S3, Cloudflare R2, Cloudinary, Local Disk, and more with one clean API. Eliminate vendor SDK bloat from your codebase. Build your file handling logic once and deploy seamlessly across any edge runtime or cloud provider.
I built Fileway because I got tired of dragging massive, provider-specific vendor SDKs into every project just to handle standard file operations. Every time we needed to switch storage from S3 to Cloudflare R2 or add Cloudinary to a stack, it meant refactoring backend code and wrestling with runtime compatibility.
Fileway gives you a zero-dependency abstraction that standardizes file uploads across all JS/TS runtimes—Node, Bun, Deno, Vercel Edge, and Cloudflare Workers.
Fileway is open-source. Check out the docs at usefileway.dev, dive into the code on GitHub, and let me know what you think or what drivers you’d like to see next! 🚀
