Hey there, I'm Omkar, the maker. I built FileSensei because my Downloads folder was a an absolute graveyard, and every tool I tried either wanted a subscription or my personal files were exposed to the cloud in one way or the other. FileSensei runs as a tiny background daemon, watches Downloads and Desktop, and sorts each new file into the right folder. Known types go by rules; anything ambiguous gets read by a local AI model (Ollama) on your own machine. Nothing is ever uploaded. The only network call is a one-time pro license check. Stack: Tauri 2 + React with a Node.js daemon sidecar. Free tier is 100 sorts a month. Pro is a one-time $29, and $19 for the first 100 of you this week. It activates on 3 devices and works fully offline. One heads-up: the app is currently unsigned, so Windows may show an "unrecognized app" screen. Click More info, then Run anyway. The source is on GitHub if you'd rather inspect it first. I'd love feedback on the sorting categories and which file types you'd want handled smarter. Ask me anything.
