File Content Conversion
Convert Anything, Upload Nothing
File conversion tools typically require an account, watermark the output, or cap free conversions. FileContentConversion runs 16 converters entirely in the browser. Files are processed locally and never uploaded to a server. No account, no limits, no queue. There is no infrastructure behind it, which is why there is no paywall. Limitation: very large files are constrained by available browser memory. Which converters would be most useful to add next?
Hi everyone,
I built this after hitting the same wall repeatedly. Convert a HEIC to JPG → create an account. Convert a PDF → "2 free conversions remaining." Convert something for work → and then the question that actually stopped me: am I uploading a client's document to a server I know nothing about?
That last part is what pushed me to build it. File conversion is computation, not a service. There's no technical reason the file has to leave your machine.
So this one doesn't. All 16 converters run in your browser. The file is never uploaded, never stored, never seen by me. That has a useful consequence: I run no servers, so there's nothing to paywall. It's free because it costs me nothing.
Covered so far: images (HEIC, PNG, JPG, WebP), documents (PDF, DOCX), and data (CSV, JSON, XML).
The honest limitation: very large files are bound by your browser's available memory. If you're converting multi-gigabyte video, a server-side tool is the right choice. That's the tradeoff for not uploading.
Two things I'd like from you: which converter should I add next, and if anything breaks on your browser or OS, tell me here and I'll fix it today.
