What inspired you to build this?
I watched a video of Dr. Jordan Peterson where, around the five-minute mark, he addressed Muslims and asked for someone to build a platform that connects people across divides. That question stuck with me. I started thinking debate could be that connecting line — a structured way for people to actually engage instead of just talking past each other. Looking into it, I couldn't find anything built for this in Arabic, or really anywhere globally that treated debate as decision infrastructure rather than just entertainment or education. So I decided to build it.
What problem were you trying to solve?
Institutions don't lack answers — they lack a trace of how they got there. After any real deliberation, it's hard to reconstruct what the actual question was, what claims were made, what evidence held up, and why one outcome won over another. A general chat tool can produce good text, but it doesn't impose structure on deliberation or leave behind a record anyone can be held to.
How did your approach evolve while building it?
The core insight that shaped everything: some decision-making processes consistently produce better outcomes than others — it's not random. So instead of inventing a method from scratch, I studied existing global frameworks for structured deliberation and adapted them. I borrowed from Robert's Rules of Order — fixed roles, ordered turns, no skipping a stage — because without that discipline, arguments just talk past each other.
That's when it stopped feeling like a debate app and started feeling like decision infrastructure. The evaluation side changed the most: every argument is now judged on four dimensions — strength, clarity, relevance, accuracy — with the reasoning written before the score, so nothing gets rationalized after the fact. Accuracy is checked against retrieved evidence rather than the model's memory — when there's no evidence, it returns neutral instead of guessing.
Built solo from Gaza, rebuilt more than once after infrastructure setbacks along the way. Happy to answer anything below 🙏
