Over the years, while developing apps, I accumulated quite a few older tablets and smartphones that I used for testing. Eventually, many of them ended up sitting unused in drawers. They were still working, but some had become too old for current apps or could no longer access the app stores properly. That made me ask myself a simple question: What could I still use these old devices for? That idea eventually became the project ExtraClock. My goal was to give old tablets, smartphones and other browser-capable devices a useful new purpose — directly in the browser, without installing an app. I’d be interested to hear what other people do with old devices that are still working but no longer useful for modern apps.
