Hey Product Hunt,
I’m Adam, and alongside @hughess, @ud3sh, @charles_evidence, @archiewood, @csjh and @itsmebriand, we’re the team building Evidence.
We’re analysts first and foremost, and Evidence is the tool we always wished we’d had.
What is Evidence?
Evidence is an open source, code-based alternative to drag and drop BI tools.
Why code based?
Building reporting in code allows you to:
- Version control your BI layer, and use tools like GitHub to collaborate
- Add CI/CD processes to your reports, so that they don’t break unexpectedly
- Support text natively, using markdown to explain your charts and tables
- Control what content is displayed, using if statements, loops and page templates
- Deliver a better UX, with fine-grained control over viz, layout and report architecture
Why now?
Reporting is still one of the most important products of every data team, and the best data teams are increasingly working in code. Drag and drop reporting solutions are just a bad fit with this new workflow.
What’s new today?
Evidence core is already a thriving open source project used in production by teams ranging from startups to billion dollar enterprises.
Today We’re launching Evidence Cloud: our managed hosting and authentication service for Evidence projects. It makes it easy to deploy and securely share Evidence projects with your team.
We’re offering a special promo for Product Hunt: use the promo code FIRSTMONTHFREE when signing up to get a month of Evidence Cloud’s Team Plan for free ($500 value).
Thank you for your support and we look forward to hearing your feedback about Evidence!

Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
