Estimatery

Free estimate builder that shows your margin as you price

Estimate builder for service businesses: contracting, video, landscaping, tree service, photography, catering, events. Pick your trade and the line items are already listed, rates left blank. As you price, a live P&L shows gross profit, margin, and markup, so an underpriced line surfaces before the estimate does. Two views of every estimate: yours with costs, the client's with prices only. Export PDF, Excel, CSV, or a share link. No account needed. Free is the whole builder. Pro is $39 once.

guy wrote it. Right now it feels AI Hi PH, I run a small video production company. For years my estimates were a spreadsheet copied from the last job, and every few months I'd catch a number in there that was wrong. I tried the real options. QuickBooks and similar apps charge a monthly fee for a huge product where the estimate part is maybe 5% of it, and that part isn't even good. It's built for invoices, not for figuring out what a job actually costs you versus what you're charging. So I built my own. Estimatery shows profit and margin next to your line items while you price. If a line is losing money, you see it before you send the estimate, not after the job. Every estimate has two versions. Yours shows costs and margins. The client's only shows prices. They never see your numbers. I made it for video work, but contractors, landscapers, photographers, and caterers all have the same problem, so it now has templates for seven industries. The line items are filled in, the prices are blank. You know your rates better than any software does. No signup. The free version is the whole builder, not a trial. Pro is $39 one time, no subscription, because I hate paying monthly for tools I open twice a month. Pro just adds your own branding to estimates. You can try the demo without an account: estimatery.com/demo Let me know which industry I should add next. And if you write estimates for a living, tell me what's missing or wrong. That's the feedback I actually need.
