I built ENCRE because I love stories – but I never found an AI tool that truly respects your character and keeps the narrative coherent over hundreds of messages.
Most AI chatbots forget who you are after a few exchanges. AI Dungeon breaks immersion by speaking for your character. And visual novels are fixed, not generative.
So I started building my own: an AI‑powered role‑playing platform where your character has a real identity (name, traits, backstory, goals) and the AI never, ever speaks or acts for you.
At first it was just for my personal entertainment. Then friends from West Africa tried it and said: “This feels like living inside an anime.” That’s when I realized I had to share it.
The journey was messy – I’m a solo developer, not a big team. I learned PHP, React, Docker, and AI integration by doing. The code is not perfect, but the experience works.
Today ENCRE offers solo and multiplayer modes, an Oracle prophecy system, a reputation that truly changes the story, and affordable subscriptions (from 800 FCFA/week) with mobile money payment – because I want everyone, not just credit card holders, to play.
