I launched BillionVerify here back when it was barely a product. This time I'm coming back with something that's been rewritten end to end.
Where this started
I spent years sending cold email for a living — selling leads to sales teams and agencies. Before every send I ran the list through whatever verifier we could afford that week, and the results failed in both directions. Addresses marked safe still bounced and burned the sending domain. And the invoice was high enough that re-running a doubtful list felt stupid, so we didn't.
That's the part that stuck with me: verification was priced like a thing you do once and hope. It should be cheap enough to do twice.
I also stopped believing the accuracy claims, including the ones I could have made myself. Mailbox providers rate-limit, greylist, and lie to unknown senders. That's just how email works, and no verifier can honestly promise you a fixed number on every domain. So you won't find a percentage anywhere in this launch. Instead we went after the things we can actually control and you can actually check: cost, ceilings, and whether the tool gets out of your way.
What changed since the last launch
1. The upload limits are gone.
We used to cap files at 20 MB and 200,000 rows, which meant the people with the biggest problem had to split their list into chunks and babysit each one. There's no row cap now, and file size is effectively unlimited. Upload, close the tab, get an email when it's done.
2. You only pay for answers.
Valid and invalid cost one credit. Unknown costs nothing — if we can't give you a definitive result, you shouldn't be paying for our uncertainty. Rechecks are free for 24 hours. And catch-all gets reported as catch-all, not quietly filed under valid to make our numbers look better.
3. Email Finder — we now handle the step before verification.
Until this month BillionVerify only started once you already had an address. Now you can go the other direction: give us a name and a company domain and we'll find the work email and verify it before handing it back. It works three ways — one person at a time, Bulk Finder for a CSV of up to 200,000 rows, and Company Search to pull every address at a domain. You're only charged when we actually find something. No match, no charge. Verification is included, not an upsell.
4. We rebuilt the verification infrastructure.
Single verification is the path we recommend for anything real-time now — it holds up under concurrency instead of falling over when you push it, and it reaches further across the major mailbox providers than it used to. The practical upshot: if you ever got an unknown result from us on a domain that mattered to you, it's worth re-running. You'll probably get a real answer this time, and the recheck costs you nothing.
5. It shows up where you work.
REST API, a native MCP server so Claude or Cursor can verify an address before an agent sends anything, a WordPress plugin that blocks disposable signups on any form, and a free deliverability test that grades your SPF, DKIM, DMARC, spam score, and blacklist status.
The part I got wrong
Two things, and they're the same mistake twice.
First, I spent the first year optimizing the API and assuming everyone would integrate. Most people don't want to integrate. They want to drag a file in and get a clean file back — and every limit we'd put on that file was us turning our infrastructure problem into their problem.
Second, I assumed verification was the whole job. It isn't. Nobody wakes up wanting to verify an email; they want to reach a person. We were showing up halfway through the user's actual workflow and calling it a product. Finder is us finally starting where the work starts.
