EdgePhishGuard

Private, on-device AI that detects phishing before you tap

EdgePhishGuard is a privacy-first Android app that checks suspicious links, SMS messages, notifications, QR codes, and screenshots before you act on them. Its AI models run entirely on-device, so your messages and browsing data are never sent to a server. It combines text, URL, and heuristic analysis to provide fast risk warnings and an extra layer of protection against phishing and smishing.

Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Xiao, an Android developer and the maker of EdgePhishGuard. I started building it as part of my cybersecurity master’s project after seeing how difficult phishing messages have become to recognize. Suspicious links can arrive through SMS, notifications, QR codes, screenshots, or copied text, while many security tools depend heavily on cloud analysis. I wanted to explore a more private approach, so EdgePhishGuard performs its main analysis directly on the Android device. It combines local AI models with text, URL, and heuristic analysis to warn users about potentially dangerous content before they act on it. The app can analyze links, messages, notifications, QR codes, and screenshots without sending their content to a remote server. It is designed as an additional layer of protection, not a guarantee that every phishing attempt will be detected. This is the first public version, and I’d really appreciate your feedback—especially about false positives, missed detections, performance, and usability. Thanks for checking out EdgePhishGuard! 🛡️
