We build catalog content tooling for e-commerce teams, and while validating our AI-visibility feature we ran a real test: 10 buying prompts ("best foundation for sensitive skin" and the like, in Swedish) against Google AI Overviews and Gemini, for a large Nordic beauty retailer and its competitors.
The result surprised us: for most prompts, nobody in the category got cited. The AI answers were there — the retailers just weren't in them.
