Earth Force
See what's changing on Earth.
Earth Force is a planetary anomaly radar that monitors environmental changes across 500 cities worldwide. Using scientific data, statistical anomaly detection, machine learning, and satellite imagery, it identifies unusual changes in air quality, temperature, rainfall, and wildfire activity. Explore interactive maps, historical trends, satellite comparisons, and AI-powered explanations to understand what's changing on our planet—and where.

Hey everyone! 👋 We are 2 data scientists, and we are excited to share Earth Force, a project we've been building to make environmental changes across our planet easier to detect and understand. What inspired this? Simple question: We have satellites, weather stations, and enormous amounts of environmental data. Why is it still so difficult for ordinary people to understand what's changing around them? While investigating haze across Southeast Asia, we realized that environmental events are interconnected, yet we often analyse them in isolation. How we approached it We built Earth Force to monitor approximately 500 cities worldwide, all cities with >1M population, using statistical anomaly detection, Extreme Value Theory, Isolation Forests, and satellite imagery to identify unusual changes in air quality, temperature, rainfall, and wildfire activity. We also integrated AI-generated explanations to make scientific observations understandable to everyone. What's next? This is still an evolving project. we're working on improving satellite-based anomaly detection, reducing false positives, and tracking how environmental events propagate across regions. We'd love your feedback on the methodology, design, and features you'd find useful! Link to website: https://www.projectearthforce.org/ Link to our blog: https://projectearthforce.substa...

Who hunted Earth Force?
Earth Force was hunted by ven venn. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
