Downxtown is a brand-first commerce platform for Indian D2C brands where brands exist independently, own their identity, and connect directly with their customers without any intermediary layer controlling the relationship. Instead of forcing brands to split identity, discovery, and sales across websites, Instagram, and marketplaces respectively, Downxtown brings them together into one connected commerce system.
Hey everyone 👋
I built Downxtown after noticing how fragmented commerce has become for modern brands.
Today, most D2C brands are forced to operate across disconnected systems:
• websites for identity
• Instagram for discovery
• marketplaces for scale
None of them truly work together, and brands often end up losing ownership of customer relationships, visibility, and long-term brand momentum.
Downxtown is our attempt to rethink that model.
We’re building a brand-first commerce platform where brands operate independently while still benefiting from marketplace-level discovery and reach. Instead of becoming just another listing inside a marketplace, brands on Downxtown have their own profiles, followers, messaging, catalogues, and direct communication with customers.
The goal is to make discovery, engagement, and commerce work together without placing a platform-controlled layer between brands and their customers.
We’re also exploring how online discovery can connect directly with offline retail availability in India.
The Android platform is already live with real brands onboard, and we’re currently building a Shopify connector to make onboarding seamless for existing D2C brands.
