Hi Product Hunt 👋 I’m Peter, the maker of Django Cloud. Why I built it My experience with launching Django apps on AWS is that it always takes me longer than I anticipate. And that first friday night building a new project is spent doing Devops. We all have been there: You set up containers, a build pipeline, TLS, a database, secrets, migrations on deploy, DNS, logs and alerts. And there is always some little snag in the configuration. Most of us just want to run git push and be online. What djangocloud does One command or a GitHub push puts your app online. Migrations, secrets and rollbacks are handled on every release. Postgres, custom domains, logs and metrics are built in. It runs on AWS Lightsail containers, so there’s no Kubernetes to learn and no surprise bill. Two ways to run it Self-hosted ($0.99/month): your app runs in your own AWS account. You pay AWS directly, at cost. We only run the control plane. Fully managed (from $15/month): we create and look after a dedicated AWS account for you and throw in that first isntance for free. Why the self-hosted option exists I don’t want you locked in. And I understand that you may have 10 side projects at the same time. So for that $0.99 you can deploy as many as you want, and whatever is left after my own hosting and stripe fees goes to catfood (yeah, rally) What I’d love feedback on Which would you pick, self-hosted or managed? Does the pricing feel right? What’s the one deploy chore you’d most like gone? Is anything missing that stops you from trying it? I’ll be here all day answering questions. The docs are at https://django-cloud.gitbook.io/.... Thanks for taking a look! 🙏
