Diskly — See your Mac disk clearly

Honest disk visualization and tidy cleanup for your Mac

Diskly is a native macOS disk analyzer and cleaner — honest numbers, whole-disk visualization, restrained cleanup, quiet menu bar presence. 100% local, no telemetry. • Real squarified treemap of your actual files and folders • Reports allocated bytes — iCloud/OneDrive placeholders count as ~0 • Correctly dedupes APFS firmlinks and hard links • Cleanup is per-item with Safe vs. Review tiers; moves to Trash • Smart node_modules detection skips active repos • Native dark mode

Hi PH! 👋 I built Diskly because every disk analyzer I tried on macOS either lied to me or felt rude. The lying part: most tools count iCloud / OneDrive placeholders as if the file were really on your disk, and most don't dedupe APFS firmlinks — so a 2TB drive cheerfully reports 6TB used. Diskly counts allocated bytes and dedupes by (st_dev, st_ino). What you see is what's actually taking space. The rude part: cleaners that delete first and explain later, that flag your active git repo's node_modules as "trash", or that nag from the menu bar every five minutes. Diskly's cleanup is per-item, ships with Safe and Review tiers, checks repo activity before suggesting node_modules, and moves everything to the Trash (never permanent delete). The menu bar widget only shows a percentage. It's a native SwiftUI app, fully local, no accounts, no telemetry. Free to try. Would love your honest feedback — especially on the cleanup suggestions, since "what's actually safe to delete on a developer's Mac" is the hardest call to get right.
