Devo Agent
Open-source coding agent built in Rust
Today I’m launching Devo, an open-source coding agent built in Rust. It is model-provider agnostic and works with leading Chinese open-source models such as DeepSeek and Qwen, z.ai, kimi models. With Devo, you can ask questions about a codebase, use different model providers, The project is still early, but the foundation is in place: Rust core, TUI support, configurable providers, model catalog, local configuration, and a client/server architecture.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I’m excited to launch Devo today.
Devo is an open-source coding agent built in Rust. It is designed for developers who want a fast, transparent, and provider-agnostic coding agent.
Why I built it:
Most coding agents are becoming very powerful, but many of them are closed-source or tightly coupled to one model provider. I wanted a coding agent that could work with different models, run from the terminal, expose its architecture openly, and give developers more control over how the agent interacts with their codebase.
What Devo supports today:
Open-source Rust-based coding agent
TUI for terminal-first workflows
Provider-agnostic model configuration
Support for providers like Claude, OpenAI, DeepSeek, Qwen, z.ai, and local models
Permission control for tool calls
Client/server architecture
Local and workspace-level configuration
The project is still early-stage and under active development, so I’m especially looking for feedback from developers, users, and people already using AI coding agents.
