DeskNotch
Turn the top of your screen into a notch like the one on Mac
DeskNotch turns the top of your Windows screen into a notch. Hover to open music controls, to-dos, a focus timer, a file Shelf, a screenshot catcher and your Claude/Codex usage. Free, no account, everything stays on your PC.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
Mac users get the notch. Windows users get… nothing. So I built DeskNotch.
Hover the top of your screen and it opens into a small control center:
🎵 Now playing, from Spotify to YouTube tabs, with controls that glow in the album's colours
✅ To-dos and reminders that pop the notch open on time
⏱️ Focus timer with a little companion that says "Done!"
📁 Shelf: drop files in, drag them out later (or "Drag all")
📸 Screenshot catcher: rename, save or discard right from the notch
🤖 Claude Code & Codex usage rings, so you know before you hit a limit
🟠🟢 Mic and camera dots that show which app is using them
The small details I'm proudest of: it hides in fullscreen, hides itself from screen shares and recordings, and shrinks to a 6px line over browser tabs.
Free, no account, and everything stays on your PC.
I have 14 more features planned. What would you want a notch on Windows to do next? Every comment gets a reply from me today 🙏
