I built the first version of Derivv at Walmart.com. We had a Mac running Photoshop 24/7 — literally just sitting there resizing product images all day. I replaced it with a scrappy app called BigGulp. Ugly, but it worked, and nobody had to babysit Photoshop anymore.
When I left, I rebuilt it as an open-source browser tool. People kept asking for more: a desktop app, saved presets, batch crops, direct uploads, live-site image extraction. So I built Derivv Pro.
