One thing that kept bothering us when working with AI Skills was how hard it was to answer a seemingly simple question:
**“Which Skill should I actually use for this task?”**
There are more and more Skills every day. Finding something that *looks* relevant is pretty easy. Finding something that actually works well for what you’re trying to do is a different story.
A Skill can have a great description but turn out to be difficult to use. A popular one may not be the best fit for your particular task. And sometimes, it’s hard to know whether a Skill is actually safe to use in the first place.
That’s why we built **deep-skill-finder**.
Instead of treating Skill discovery as a simple keyword search, we look at four things:
* **Real-world performance** — what the Skill can actually do
* **Difficulty & requirements** — what it takes to use it successfully
* **Safety** — potential risks and trustworthiness
* **User feedback** — what people actually experienced when using it
You describe what you’re trying to accomplish, and deep-skill-finder finds and recommends Skills based on these factors — rather than simply showing you the most popular or keyword-matched ones.
It’s still a work in progress, and we’re curious to see how people actually discover and choose Skills.
