debatly

AI debate analysis with speaker tracking and fact checks

Debatly listens to live or uploaded debates, separates speakers, identifies each side, extracts factual claims, checks them against the web, flags contradictions and double standards, and generates a neutral post-debate report. Unlike generic transcription tools, it focuses on debate structure: who said what, which claims need evidence, and where arguments conflict. It never declares a winner; it lays out the facts so people can judge for themselves.

Top comment

I built Debatly because debates move fast, and it is hard to track what was actually said, what was factual, and whether both sides were being held to the same standard. The idea started as a live debate companion, but the hard part quickly became speaker consistency and clean analysis. Debatly now uses speaker separation, claim extraction, fact-checking, contradiction detection, and credibility scoring as separate AI steps instead of one giant prompt. The goal is not to declare a winner. It is to create a neutral report that helps people review the debate with more clarity.

Who hunted debatly?

debatly was hunted by Ashwin Thomas. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
