DBeast
DBeast: PostgreSQL MCP Server for AI Database Analysis
DBeast is a PostgreSQL MCP server that gives AI assistants structured DBA-style tools for schema discovery, database health checks, security audits, maintenance analysis, data quality checks, query performance review, and safe write-impact previews. GitHub: https://github.com/snss10/DBeast
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built DBeast to explore a bigger question:
What if AI assistants could do real PostgreSQL investigation, not just generate SQL?
DBeast is an MCP server that gives assistants structured DBA-style tools for understanding and analyzing databases.
It can help with:
- schema discovery and ERD generation
- database health checks
- index and maintenance analysis
- query performance investigation
- security and sensitive-data audits
- data quality checks
- replication and configuration review
- impact previews for risky database changes
The goal is to turn tools like Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf into practical database analysis copilots.
In the demo, Claude uses DBeast to inspect a PostgreSQL database, run multiple audits, identify critical issues, and summarize what to fix first.
Safety still matters, so destructive writes are previewed instead of executed directly. But the bigger idea is giving AI assistants enough structured database context to reason from evidence instead of guessing.
I’d love feedback from PostgreSQL users, backend engineers, DBAs, and MCP builders.
Especially curious:
1. What database workflow would you want an AI assistant to help with first?
2. Which DBeast tool category sounds most useful to you: schema, performance, security, maintenance, or data quality?
3. Which MCP client should I document more deeply next?

Who hunted DBeast?
DBeast was hunted by SN10. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
