Three years ago I was in a place in which I lacked stability and certainty. I was in between jobs, I just moved countries and as an iOS Engineer I felt a lack of self esteem stronger than ever.
That was when I got introduced to Darts by a close family member.
I was skeptical at first but quickly got into it and started enjoying the diversity that Darts offers, with its different game modes to play for fun and practice as well as the classic X01 & Cricket modes for some more "serious" games.
While we were playing with a digital dartboard I felt that using a physical one would look much nicer... but that came with a caveat. You'd have to manually keep track of the score. Being an iOS Engineer and at a point where I really felt like I wanted to release a proper App beyond a simple experiment, I got quickly started on some prototyping.
3 years later, another move behind me, most of the 3 years not working on the app much, and here we are. The launch of the first version of my Dart Tracker app.
Why did it take me 3 years to launch it?
Lots of things happened in life, priorities changed frequently, lack of motivation during difficult implementation steps.
After re-writing parts of the app multiples times, re-designing the app 3 times, exchanging the data structure underneath entirely once I am finally happy with this version to a degree, that I want to release it to users to gather feedback and keep building on top of it.
I have big plans for the app's future and I would love it if it could help you practice Darts more efficiently in the future! :)
