CYTEM

Discover. Intelligence. Validate

CYTEM is a continuous threat exposure management (CTEM) platform that discovers, contextualises and validates your external attack surface in one loop. Discover: daily mapping of domains, subdomains, IPs, ports and web technologies. Intelligence: assets linked to live CVE, MITRE ATT&CK, dark web, APT activity and brand impersonation, turning findings into prioritised risk. Validate: testing what is exploitable, with evidence-based remediation reports. Agentless, no complex integrations.

Top comment

We built CYTEM because security testing is still mostly a snapshot. You run a pentest or an assessment, get a report, and by the time you've actioned it your attack surface has already moved. Domains change, subdomains get spun up and forgotten, cloud storage gets left open. The gap between "we tested" and "what's exposed right now" is where the real risk lives. That gap got hard to ignore once we started scanning organisations in regulated sectors. The same issues kept surfacing: dangling DNS records open to subdomain takeover, publicly listable cloud storage, missing DNS and registrar controls that cost nothing to fix. Nothing exotic, all of it sitting in plain sight between assessments. So CYTEM runs as one continuous loop rather than a point-in-time check: Discover maps your external attack surface daily. Intelligence adds context, linking findings to live CVE data, MITRE ATT&CK, dark web activity and brand impersonation, so you see what matters. Validate tests what's exploitable, so you act on evidence rather than assumptions. It's agentless, so there's nothing to deploy to get going. The approach evolved along the way. We started out thinking of these as three separate tools, then realised the value was in connecting them, so a finding doesn't just sit in a list but gets prioritised and proven. You can run a free Discovery Scan to see your own external exposure. We'd value honest feedback from this community, especially from security and ops folk, on what would make it more useful.

Who hunted CYTEM?

CYTEM was hunted by Brett Smith, CISSP. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
