My wife decorates and sells cookies. Every custom order hit the same wall: the shape she needed didn't exist as a cutter, and buying one meant $15 and a week of waiting, per shape. I write software and don't bake, so I built her the tool instead. Then I kept watching her work and kept finding more of the job that software could take over, and it grew into this. The cutter part Upload an SVG, drop in a photo, or start from one of 70+ built-in shapes, and it generates a print-ready binary STL. You control blade taper, wall thickness, handles, and interior detail stamps, and you see it in 3D before slicing. Geometry is generated in your browser — nothing is uploaded unless you order a physical print. The part I actually think is more interesting Making the cutter turned out to be the easy fifth of the job. Theme ideation. Describe an occasion — "woodland baby shower", "vintage bridal tea" — and get matched cutter shapes paired with icing concepts designed to work together, rather than ten unrelated shapes. Icing design studio. Mock up royal icing on your exact cutter geometry, pick a difficulty tier from fast bakery flood work up to showpiece linework, click any spot on the cookie to recolor it, and rotate it in 3D. Comes with the color mixing ratios to hit the shades. Set cohesion. Lays every cutter in a set on one shared scale mat, so two cutters that differ by 20% on screen differ by 20% on the tray. Sets that look right in the app but come out mismatched in real life was a genuine, repeated problem. Proposals and invoicing. Roll the cutter specs, a decorated mockup, dough batch estimate, icing estimate, cookie count and line items into a client quote under your own bakery name. Saved proposals become invoices you can track. Before this, my wife quoted custom orders on instinct. Private and shared libraries. Save designs privately, or publish them to a shared gallery for other bakers to use. Projector mode for piping guides, and a dough and icing calculator driven by your cutter's real area rather than a batch-yield guess. What's free and what isn't Exporting an STL from your own file or the built-in shapes is free — no account, no watermark. The AI features (photo tracing, theme ideas, icing designs) run on credits, because each one is an API call I pay for. New accounts get free credits, and there's no subscription. If you don't own a printer you can order cutters printed in PLA and shipped. That's the entire business model, and I'd rather put it here than have someone find it at checkout. What I'd like from you If you own a printer: print one and tell me how the blade geometry holds up. My defaults are tuned on my printer and I don't know how well they travel. If you bake: check the dough and icing numbers against a real batch. They come from cutter area and typical densities, and I'd rather hear it's wrong from you than have someone quote a customer off a bad estimate. If you sell cookies: tell me what the proposal is missing. It's modelled on one bakery's workflow — my wife's — and I know that's a sample size of one.
