I kept watching talented people get passed over, not because they lacked ability, but because nobody had ever shown them how leadership actually works. The workshops existed, the books existed, the YouTube channels existed. But none of it was theirs. It was generic, one-size, delivered once and forgotten in weeks.
In Sri Lanka specifically, the gap is stark. Real leadership development, the kind that changes how you think and not just what you know, is expensive, inaccessible, or designed for someone else's context. The best tools were built for Western markets, quoted in USD, and assumed you had a corporate L&D budget behind you.
The problem I was trying to solve:
Growth shouldn't wait on someone else's calendar. A person shouldn't have to afford a Rs. 50,000-per-hour executive coach to get honest feedback about who they are as a leader. And an organization shouldn't have to guess whether any of it actually worked.
Cultiv8Hub brings together four things that usually require four separate vendors: a structured leadership program, a personal AI mentor that actually knows your situation, honest diagnostic tools (360s, culture audits, individual assessments), and a learning engine that builds your development plan from your results, not from a template.
How the approach evolved:
It started as a course. Then I realized a course without a mentor is just content. Then I realized a mentor without measurement is just conversation. The whole platform came out of filling those gaps one by one, until the thing that existed was an ecosystem rather than a product.
The hardest part was resisting the urge to build for everyone at once. The individual user, the ambitious professional who wants to grow but can't afford the traditional route, stayed the north star throughout. Organizations came later, as a natural extension: if it works for the person, it works for the team.
