Cricket is arriving in America. Major League Cricket launched here, and prediction markets now list cricket next to the NFL. So people around me started trying to watch it. And they bounced off it every time, at the same place: the scoreboard.
"311 & 126/7 (43 ov)" tells you nothing at all, not even who is winning.
I could explain it. But explaining it live, ball by ball, to someone watching their first match, doesn't scale past one person on a couch. And every explainer out there is written for someone who already speaks the language. Nobody was translating live.
So I built the translator.
Pick a live match. Ask "who's winning?" and get it in baseball terms, plus a real win probability from a model fitted on thousands of matches. Ask "what just happened?" and get the last few balls decoded out of the jargon. T20, ODI, Tests, IPL, MLC, and the Hundred.
