Hi Product Hunt I'm Tim, founder of Creader. Ten years ago, when I first moved to the UK, I could barely speak English. Web novels were what kept me grounded. I'd disappear into stories that felt larger than the page. Somewhere along the way, I kept asking: why does writing feel so hard — and why do most tools make it worse? That question stuck with me. I went through computer science, spent time in blockchain and IP infrastructure, and later worked on AI systems. Earlier this year, I got laid off. Ten days ago, I shipped Creader v1. Here's the thesis we're betting on: Most AI writing tools are solving the wrong problem. They optimise for fluency — generating text that sounds finished. But fluency was never the bottleneck for serious long-form writers. Premature coherence is. When AI resolves your ambiguity instantly, you lose your initial substance. So Creader is built around a different premise: AI should help you see your world, not write it for you. Underneath is what we call the Memory Engine: It tracks your characters, locations, events, and how they relate. So when you're 200k words in, AI isn't guessing — It’s grounded in your actual story. We also built something called Guardian: It flags inconsistencies and helps you catch things you’d normally miss. What you can do today: - Build characters, locations, events as structured nodes (not just notes) - Define semantic relationships ("ally_of", "located_in", "caused_by") - Write chapters with AI that actually remembers everything you've established - Get consistency warnings when chapter 87 contradicts chapter 3 - Plug your story world into Claude / GPT / any MCP client via https://github.com/timothyshen/c... - Full export — your world is yours forever (Markdown + JSON) We’re building this for writers who’ve lost track of their own world. Two things I'd love to hear from you: 1. For writers: what's the moment in long-form writing where your tools fail you the hardest? 2. For builders: would an MCP server to a creative knowledge graph be useful in your own AI workflows? Roast me, push back, ask anything — I'll be here all day. — Tim
