Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm the founder. I built Cortex because my watch told me when my body was recovered, but nothing told me when my mind was. I'd find out at 4 PM, after a day of Slack and tabs, that I had nothing left.
Every morning it asks how you slept (it already knows, from Apple Health), how your energy is and what today's one goal is, then runs a 30-second word-fluency test. Out comes a Capacity score with reasons. During the day it watches how your screen spends your attention (app switches, words on screen, optional webcam eye tracking) and lowers your capacity live as your eyes tire. The brain map shows which networks your screen time leaned on; it's a model, not a scan, and says so.
Privacy was the hard constraint: speech-to-text, the voice and eye tracking all run on your Mac; frames, audio and screenshots are never stored.
Honest caveats: Apple Silicon only, the preview isn't notarized yet, first launch downloads ~3.5 GB of on-device models. I'd love your feedback, especially on what you'd want it to do for you next.
