Hi everyone,
Art theft runs rampant on Etsy (e-commerce site focused on homemade or vintage products with over 7 million sellers). Copyright infringers post stolen content as their own and persistently re-post it despite removal efforts.
The stolen artwork is uploaded on many platforms, posing a challenge for Etsy sellers, who often spend hours each week manually searching the internet and filing DMCA takedown reports.
CopyCat aims to help reduce the impact of this problem by scanning the web for stolen content and notifying sellers when it gets published online. The app also provides sellers with a comprehensive toolkit for filing DMCA violations, which can be a cumbersome process.
Here are some resources for those interested in this problem!
