Consent Guard

Cookie consent in one toggle, plus a real tracker scan

Shopify's native cookie banner records consent fine via the Customer Privacy API. What it doesn't do is tell you what's actually running on your storefront that needs consent. Most merchants set up their consent categories by guessing. Consent Guard scans your live storefront and names which of 16 known trackers it finds — Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Klaviyo, Hotjar and others. It does not block scripts hardcoded into theme.liquid — no consent app can. Free plan, no card.

Hey PH — I'm Roy, built this alone. The thing that got me building this: I kept seeing merchants in Shopify's forums asking "is the native cookie banner GDPR compliant?" and the honest answer splits into two separate questions. Consent *recording* — yes, native handles that fine. Knowing what you even need consent *for* — no, native gives you an empty category list you fill in by guessing. So Consent Guard scans the actual storefront and names the trackers it finds, so the consent categories match reality instead of a guess. It does not block hardcoded scripts — nothing can, short of moving them to Shopify's pixel manager — and I say that explicitly in the app rather than let it be a surprise later. Free plan, no card. Tell me if this is solving a real problem or not — that's more useful to me than a nice comment.
