Why we built this: We started Kensara doing DPDPA compliance advisory for Indian companies, and the same gap kept coming up. Every company had a cookie banner. Almost none could prove their consent records were genuine, and very few knew which trackers were firing on their own sites before a visitor clicked anything. DPDPA puts the burden of proof on the business, so a banner that only logs a click isn’t enough. The problem: Consent tools treat consent as a UI problem. We think it’s an evidence problem. Three things kept breaking: Trackers firing before consent, unnoticed Consent records sitting in ordinary database tables that anyone could edit Opt-outs that stopped at the website while the user stayed on the email list How our approach evolved: We built it around one rule- deterministic first, AI second, human last. A known-vendor database handles most trackers instantly, AI only handles the long tail, and anything uncertain goes to a DPO. The AI only ever sees tracker metadata, never personal data. On the trust side, every consent became a hash-chained, append-only receipt, so tampering is detectable. Withdrawals don’t count as done when an API returns 200; we check that the suppression actually happened. Today Kensara Consent & Digital Trust covers tracker discovery, jurisdiction-aware banners (EU, UK, India, US), Google Consent Mode v2 and GPC signals, tamper-evident consent records and verified withdrawal, built for DPDPA, GDPR and CCPA.
