I built this after a simple frustration: my phone rang and woke me up for something that could've waited till morning. I realized the real problem is that callers have no way of knowing you're asleep — so keeping your ringer on always feels risky, even when you don't want to be disturbed.
Sleep Mode fixes that. Set your sleep hours, and if someone calls during that window, they automatically get a text letting them know you're asleep — with the option to call again if it's genuinely urgent.
A bit about how I built this: I had zero Android development experience going in. Used Claude (Anthropic's AI) as a coding partner throughout — writing code, debugging, learning Kotlin from scratch. Along the way I hit some real manufacturer restrictions (Android's official call-screening permission is blocked on several phone brands like vivo and Xiaomi) and had to find a workaround.
It's still an early, rough-around-the-edges build, but it's real, working on my own phone right now, and solves the exact problem I set out to fix.
