Ctrome
Your AI sidekick for everything you do on Mac
Ctrome lives quietly on your Mac and turns any selection into an AI action — translate, rewrite, save to smart notes, or recall later in plain English. No tab switching, no copy-pasting. What's new: - Clipboard history with AI search - Screenshot OCR — extract text from any image - Lofi AI Radio — a chill room with a virtual DJ to keep you company while you work Built by one dev tired of switching to Chrome for every small thing.
I'm the solo developer behind Ctrome. I built it because I was
tired of doing the same thing 50 times a day — selecting text,
opening Chrome, pasting into ChatGPT/DeepL/Photopea, copying
back. That workflow is broken.
Ctrome is my attempt to fix it. It sits on your Mac and turns
any text selection into an AI action with one shortcut:
- Smart notes that you can recall in plain English ("that thing
about Rust ownership I read last week")
- Translate, rewrite, OCR from screenshots
- Clipboard history with semantic search
- And a Lofi AI Radio room for when you need company at 2am
This is a relaunch — since the first version, I've shipped
clipboard history, screenshot OCR, and the AI radio. The radio
went from idea to live in half a day (built with Claude Code).
Free to try. Would love your feedback — what's the one thing
on your Mac you'd want an AI sidekick for?

Who hunted Ctrome?
Ctrome was hunted by Alan Xie. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
