Compass World News

Private news reading — feeds fetched on your device

Compass World is a privacy-first news aggregator for droid. It pulls your RSS/Atom feeds directly on your device — no middleman server, no acc, no reading history collected. Sync between devices p2p with a QR code, no cloud involved. Organise feeds into custom sections and read with a clean reader view, headline search, and daily digest. Free to download and usable out of the box; a one-time Pro unlock adds all nine themes, OPML import, extra games, and more customisation. No ads, no tracking.

Hi 👋 I'm Daniel, an indie developer (and primary school teacher) from New Zealand. I built Compass World because I wanted to follow the news without a company logging everything I read. Most readers route feeds through their servers — Compass World fetches them directly on-device, and even device-to-device sync is done with a QR code instead of a cloud account. I removed a proxy fallback I'd shipped because it undermined that promise. It's free to try, with a one-time Pro upgrade — no ads, no tracking. I'd love your feedback, especially on the privacy model and which feeds or sources you'd want supported.
