Cognivia

See why a student forgets, diagnose & fix it scientifically

Cognivia measures what report cards can't: the exact misconception behind each wrong answer, and how fast a student forgets each idea, then fixes both. It runs offline on the cheapest phone. Built by a rural teacher; open research with a live study.

Hi Product Hunt! I'm Manik, 19, from Kanpur, India. I taught ~1,000 students across 40+ under-resourced schools and kept seeing the same thing: kids revise hard and forget almost everything a week later. The problem was never effort, no tool ever told them why they were wrong. So I taught myself cognitive science and coding and built Cognivia. Cognivia diagnoses the exact misconception behind each wrong answer and models how fast each student forgets, then schedules review to their own forgetting curve. It runs offline on the cheapest phone, so the students who need it most can actually use it. It's open research, a controlled study is running now (pre-registered on OSF, preprints on SSRN/Zenodo/EdArXiv). Try the live demo, no sign-in: cognivia-platform.vercel.app. I'd love feedback, especially from teachers and anyone who's built for low-resource settings: what would make this genuinely useful in your classroom?
