CoColor is an Android app for choosing interior colors from the real world. Point your camera at a room, wall, floor, furniture, fabric, or object, and CoColor extracts the palette, suggests matching colors, finds close RAL Classic paint matches, and helps you search for similar interior references. I built it after repainting my own hallway dark blue and realizing that reference images make bold color choices much less scary.
Hey Product Hunt!
I built CoColor because I was honestly tired of being afraid of paint colors.
For years I painted walls in pale, safe colors because it felt like that was what you were supposed to do. Then I started watching interior designers on YouTube and realized that rooms can be dark, bright, saturated, dramatic, cozy - and apparently the ceiling does not have to be white either.
The turning point was my own hallway. I wanted to paint it dark blue, but I did not want to change the doors, windows, floor, or other fixed elements. So I kept looking for real interior references with similar colors and materials until I found one that made the choice feel safe. I painted it, and it turned out great.
That process became CoColor.
The app lets you point your camera at real objects or interiors, extract the colors, check how they work together, find close RAL Classic matches, and search for similar interior inspiration from the captured palette.
It is not meant to replace a designer. It is more like a small confidence tool for people doing renovation, decorating, painting, or trying not to default to beige forever.
I would love honest feedback, especially from people who work with interiors, DIY renovation, painting, styling, or visual design.
