Every year, my friends and I go to the same surf resort in Nicaragua for a week of uncrowded waves. I was curious how the tradition got started, and asked our friend who organizes the trip. He told me that before the group came together, he had gone to Nicaragua by himself, without a guide. It was only once he arrived in the country and talked to a few locals that he discovered the surf camp we've been going back to for years.
As he finished telling the story, I realized that there must be a better way. Not only was it hard to discover the best experiences, it was also stressful to deal with random PayPal links and over-the-phone booking processes. That's when Cole and I came up with the plan to build Coaster— the marketplace for top-rated, easy-to-book outdoor adventures.
