I built Clypy around a simple idea: your clipboard should be universal, not trapped on one device, inside one ecosystem, or limited to humans.
Clypy keeps everything you copy available across Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android. Copy on one device, paste on another, and search your history by meaning when you can’t remember the exact words. Screenshots become searchable through on-device OCR, and optional local AI helps without sending your clipboard to the cloud.
Clypy can also act as private, durable memory for AI agents. Through MCP, tools like Codex and Claude can save, organize, search, and recall user-approved context, so useful knowledge can survive beyond a single chat without living in another company’s cloud.
Privacy shaped the architecture from day one. Clips are encrypted on the device that copied them, and Clypy’s servers never receive readable clipboard content. Things that look like passwords or secrets are excluded automatically.
