Clutio
Turn any webpage into your language classroom
Reading in another language? Click any word for an in-context AI translation — no tab switching. Clutio then saves it as study material and turns it into quizzes, so reading actually becomes retention. Free, 7 languages, no login, and your data stays in your browser.
Hi Product Hunt 👋 maker of Clutio here.
When I read in another language, I wanted three things to happen the moment I hit a word I don't know — without leaving the page: translate it in context, keep it as study material, and let me test myself on it later. Nothing did all three in one place, so I built Clutio.
On any webpage:
1. Click a word → an LLM translates it in context — it reads the sentence, so "lead" in a news story vs a chemistry doc come out right, not a generic dictionary entry
2. It saves the word + its sentence as study material, automatically
3. It generates quizzes / tests from what you've collected, so reading turns into actual retention
A few deliberate choices:
• No login, no backend. Your study + quiz data stay in your browser — I never see them.
• Free (~14,400 lookups/day), translation called straight from your browser.
• Multiple languages (7).
It's free on the Chrome Web Store (link above). I'd love to hear: what's the first webpage you'd use this on? And if you're learning a non-English language, does the in-context angle work for you?
Happy to answer anything all day 🙏
