Cloister
A calm, native focus timer for your Mac's menu bar
Cloister is a calm, native focus timer for macOS — a quiet menu-bar app, built on the Pomodoro rhythm, that stacks your focused hours into streaks and a year-long heatmap and keeps every session on your Mac. Free to use — Pro is a one-time purchase.
Hi PH I'm Dochi, an indie dev.
I built Cloister because I wanted a focus timer that was neither too simple (a bare stopwatch) nor too complex (a tracker buried in tags and to-dos).
I wanted three things: to focus, to keep a record of it, and to be able to keep doing it for years. So Cloister treats the break as a real part of the cycle, keeps everything local on your Mac, and quietly turns your sessions into streaks and a year-long heatmap you can actually look back on.
It's native SwiftUI, notarized, self-distributed, and priced once — no subscription.
The free tier is the full timer, forever. I'd love your honest feedback, especially on where it feels off. Thanks for taking a look.
