Clips
The lightweight native macOS clipboard manager
Clips is the ultimate keyboard-driven clipboard manager for Mac. Access your copy history instantly and paste effortlessly without touching your mouse. Designed for speed, it auto-selects your previous item for rapid pasting. Weighing only 2MB, it’s a purely native Swift app that won’t slow down your machine. 100% free forever.
I’m thrilled to officially launch Clips today! I have to step away for a bit shortly after launch, so I wanted to drop a quick guide here on how to get the most out of the app. I'll be reading and replying to all your feedback as soon as I'm back!
Here is a quick breakdown of how Clips works and what you can customize.
⚡️ How to use Clips
Make sure your text cursor is blinking wherever you want to paste text.
Press Option + S to open Clips.
Use the Up/Down arrows to navigate your clipboard history.
Press Enter to paste. (You can also just click any clip once with your mouse and press Enter).
Use the Left/Right arrows to instantly switch between the Clips and Settings tabs.
⚙️ Settings & Customization
Auto copy on select: If you click a note in Clips once, it automatically copies it to your active clipboard.
Ignore own copies: Prevents duplicates! If you copy the exact same text twice, Clips will only save one instance of it.
Blacklist: Select specific apps that you want Clips to ignore (nothing copied from them will be saved).
Enable auto clean up: Keep things tidy. You can set your history to automatically clear after 15 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, 1 day, or 7 days.
Custom Hotkey: You can easily change the default Option + S shortcut to whatever works best for your workflow.
Export & Import: Back up your entire history into a .clips file and import it back whenever you need it.
Other features: You can change the app language, clear your entire history with one click, and check your current app version directly in the settings.
