Hi Product Hunt! I’m the maker of ClipRecall, a free menu bar clipboard history app for Mac. The everyday loop is: copy, press Option+V, choose an item, then paste. Text, links, rich text, and images stay within reach. Pin replies and URLs you reuse often, and preview images or HTML before pasting. If you want the selected item pasted directly into the active app, turn on Direct Paste in Settings > General. Follow the permission prompt in System Settings, then restart ClipRecall. Direct Paste is off by default; otherwise, choose an item and press Cmd+V yourself. Version 1.2 adds custom background images, GIF and supported animated PNG backgrounds, colors matched to your image, 20 appearance presets, and an Emoji tab. Emoji, kaomoji, and symbols can be saved as favorites. You can adjust the look while watching a settings preview. Clipboard contents stay on your Mac. Regular history is kept in memory and disappears when the app quits. Pinned items are stored locally with encryption; background-image copies are stored locally without encryption. No accounts, ads, analytics, or cloud sync. Free, with no subscription or paid feature unlocks. Optional tips are the only in-app purchase. Requires macOS 14 or later. I’d love feedback on how it fits your daily copy-and-paste workflow.
