Clean Link (Chrome Extension)
Remove UTM/fbclid/gclid + auto-clean URLs in Chrome
Clean Link is a privacy-first Chrome extension that removes tracking parameters (utm_*, fbclid, gclid, etc.) so you can share shorter, readable URLs. What makes it stand out: 1‑click clean+copy, optional “replace current page URL” toggle, auto-clean while browsing with flexible scope (clean all except excluded domains / clean selected domains only), per-domain “always/never” rules, custom parameters & prefixes and a built-in rule tester + auto-clean stats. All URL processing happens locally.
Hey Product Hunt — I’m the maker of Clean Link.
I built it because I kept running into long “tracking-heavy” URLs (utm_*, fbclid, gclid…) that look messy and leak extra info when you share them.
What Clean Link does:
1‑click clean + copy for the current tab
optional replace the address bar URL (“clear URL”)
auto-clean while browsing with scope controls (selected sites only / all except excluded)
per-domain always/never auto-clean rules
custom params + prefixes, optional aggressive mode
built-in rule tester + auto-clean stats
Privacy note: URL cleaning happens locally in the browser and the extension doesn’t collect/store/transmit personal data.
I’d love honest feedback:
Which parameters should be removed (or kept) by default?
Any sites where URL cleaners commonly break links for you?
Would you prefer a keyboard shortcut, context-menu action, or per-domain quick toggle?
