I built Claude Monitor because I kept hitting "You've reached your usage limit" in the middle of a task, with no idea it was coming. Claude does show your usage, but it lives on a settings page you have to remember to open.
So the extension keeps it in view: a badge in the toolbar, a popup with every limit and a countdown to its reset, alerts at 80% and 95%, and, new since the last launch, a slim bar right above claude.ai's chat box.
It also works on the Free plan. Claude closed its usage page to Free accounts in August, so most trackers went blank there. Every reply still carries your limits, and the extension reads them from there.
Privacy was a hard requirement: read-only, no account, no API key, no servers, no analytics. It's open source (MIT), so you can check every line. It runs on Chrome, Firefox and Edge, in 8 languages, and about 1,000 people use it on Chrome today.
